Greek military cemetery in Axioupolis

The Greek military cemetery, with more than 70 graves of soldiers fallen on the Raviné and Skra fronts in the period 1916-1918, is located near the post-Byzantine church of Agios Dimitrios in Axioupoli, on the homonymous hill. It is the burial site of Greek army soldiers, who fell in the aforementioned areas during WWI, while there are also four burials of officers of the Civil War. The cemetery was built in 1939 by the residents of Axioupolis. It is small and quite simple, as a result of the dire economic situation of the country during the interwar period.
