This cemetery houses the graves of 102 officers and soldiers of the Greek army (the Cretans’ Division and the Serres Division), who fell during the battle of Doirani, on 5/9/1918. The monument is dominated by the statue of a winged Victory, in a strict style, wearing a typical helmet of the Great War. With her right hand she brandishes a sword, while with her left hand she holds a laurel wreath. This is a work of the great Greek sculptor, Antonios Sochos.

The base of the monument has the following verses by the national poet, Dionysios Solomos, from his poem “Ode to the Death of Lord Byron”:

“And it is they who, fighting
covered the land
clashing on the arms
with their free body.”
