The building is located at 50 N. Panagiotou street, in the southeastern part of the city. It was built in the 1920s-1930s, based on the plans of the German architect Wicks. It is one of the first industrial buildings in the Regional Unit of Kilkis, which retains basic neoclassical architectural elements. It was the property of the Jewish David Faratzis from Thessaloniki. He had built many tobacco warehouses, which he leased to one of the largest tobacco trading houses of Thessaloniki, the “Austrian-Greek Tobacco Company S.A.”.
The building features a pitched roof and is three-stories high, covering a total area of 1,066.28 m2. During the first years of operation, it employed about 100 workers from the city of Kilkis, under the direction of the tobacco broker K. Ziogas. The tobacco warehouse ceased its operation after WWII. It was renovated in 2014 and has since been used as a venue for cultural exhibitions and events.
