Tracing the Great War in Kilkis

Another thematic route proposed – respective to other known ones in Europe and also coined as dark tourism, concerns visible monuments in Kilkis of our continent’s recent history, in particular WWI (1914-1918). One can visit the Heroon, the British and Greek military cemeteries in Doirani, the cemeteries of the Commonwealth in Krestoni and Polykastro, the Greek military cemetery in Axioupolis, as well as the Heroon and the Museum of the battle of Skra.
